In the Algarve, many pools are fed with borehole water. It is practical, it is economical \u2014 but it carries a hidden cost that only appears a few months later: accelerated pump wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Borehole water brings with it fine sand, iron and dissolved minerals. These particles, invisible to the naked eye, enter through the motor seals and destroy the bearings from within. The result is the metallic, continuous noise that many clients describe to us over the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And here is the point that matters: replacing the pump without treating the water is money down the drain. The new one will go the same way as the previous one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2192 Pre-filtration at the circuit inlet, with a sediment filter suitable for the borehole flow rate.
\u2192 Water analysis \u2014 iron, manganese, hardness and pH \u2014 to determine whether additional treatment is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only in this way can the pump, heater, salt chlorinator and the pool lining itself be protected against staining and scale build-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
